What is Silicosis?
Silicosis is a long-standing lung disease that has been caused by inhaling large amounts of silica dust over a long period of time.
People who work in construction, demolition and stonemasonry are some of those at higher risk of developing silicosis.
Symptoms can take a long time to develop but if you have worked where silica dust has been present and suffer from the following, you may be at risk:

Persistent cough

Persistent shortness of breath

Weakness and tiredness

Difficulty walking or climbing stairs
